Therapy Approach
Dr. Muirhead’s clinical work is based primarily on attachment theory but she offers a combination of approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, play and art therapy, along with Psychodynamic Therapy. There is no typical session when working with Dr. Muirhead because she tries to meet the needs of each individual client. She has a direct but compassionate approach and incorporates humor when appropriate. Dr. Muirhead believes that it is through a strong therapeutic relationship, along with practical coping skills and emotional support that positive change is possible. Dr. Muirhead feels it is important that each client can identify progress from their work with her.
In addition to working at The Center part-time Dr. Muirhead stays busy spending time with her two young children and enjoying everything out doors in the Pacific North West, especially spending time on the water.
