Bergen Starke, LMHC

Bergen Starke, LMHC

Bergen Starke is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over a decade of experience in the behavioral health field. She provides individual, couples, and family counseling to adults navigating a wide range of emotional and mental health challenges. Bergen specializes in trauma-informed care, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, Psychodynamic Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Strengths-Based approaches.

Bergen works with a broad range of clients dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, substance use, and major life transitions. She has particular expertise in supporting individuals who have experienced trauma—including survivors of human trafficking—and those managing PTSD and chronic stress.
A key focus of her practice is adoption-related counseling. Bergen supports adoptees in exploring identity, attachment, and emotional challenges throughout their adoption journey. She also works closely with adoptive parents on parenting strategies, strengthening family bonds, and promoting healthy attachment.
In addition, Bergen provides therapy to veterans and military families, helping them navigate reintegration, housing stability, and related mental health concerns. She has experience working with individuals coming out of the justice system and reentry into the community. Her background includes crisis management, inpatient, and case management in community-based settings.
