Adriene Taulbee is Licensed Psychotherapist, Substance Use Disorder Professional, Recreational Therapist and Yoga teacher.
Adriene received her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pacific Lutheran University in 2010, specializing in work with individuals, couples and families. Prior to mental health therapy Adriene has worked in social work with at-risk youth in community based intervention programs and started out her career in applied behavioral analysis therapy (early intervention program) at University of Washington Autism Center. Having worked in social, behavioral and mental health services for the past twenty years Adriene has wide variety of experience in age groups from young children to geriatric/elderly populations. Further experience in multiple types of settings, such as private practice, clinic/agencies, homes, hospitals and school systems. Adriene’s approach to therapy is unique and focuses on meeting the client where they at, first and foremost. Addressing specific needs of clients using traditional talk therapy modalities such as, but not limited to cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy and solution focused, while interweaving more eastern style approaches such as somatic -body centered therapies. Adriene is a certified yoga teacher from Kripalu, Center for Yoga and Health in Stockbridge, Massachusetts in 2011. Later furthering her in-depth yoga studies after receiving an additional teacher certification in Kundalini Yoga, training in Rishikesh, India in 2015. Incorporating yoga, meditation and breath-work into her therapy practices, in addition to teaching yoga therapy in groups at chemical dependency treatment centers. Lastly, Adriene is a licensed Substance Use Disorder Professional working with individual experiencing addiction related issues involving substances. Adriene has worked with treatment centers using a traditional AA model, as well as treatment centers using alternative (non AA) approaches to treating substance use disorders. With that comes a deep respect for both approaches without judgment on what may be right for and/or best meet the needs of individuals seeking help/treatment.
